About me

I guess it's not me you are interested in, but the projects you can find on this blog. Still here a little bit about me:

Hi, my name is Sander...

I always have been a technology fan with the emphasis on electronics. When I was young I hardly understood how electronics worked but I found out a basic principle the hard way... more then once:

220VAC hurts!

I learned really young how to change the fuse when I (again) forgot to unplug the device I was examining and (again) touched the wrong wires. It must have cost my parents a fortune bying all these fuses over and over again. But I survived. It didn't kill me, so I guess it made me stronger. At least my interests in electronics grew stronger.

Later I learned to actually create stuff instead of only taking it apart. I finally found out where all those colorful parts were for. Those colored rings aren't there just for fun, they actually mean something.

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology in Eindhoven and when I finished I decided to never let go of my soldering iron. I got married with a beautiful wife, got two kids equally beautiful, but I still have my iron within reach. We have had our ups and downs, but we still live under the same roof. And my wife is OK with that. The fire is still burning... 327.46 degrees celcius to be precise (actually 400 degrees after the ROHS directive of 2006).

Did I proof myself a electronics nerd enough?

No?.... Atmel microcontrollers, C, UART, MISO/MOSI, Raspberry Pi, GPIO, Python, Debian, Wheezy, Home Automation...

Favorite websites? Hackaday, Hackedgadgets, Conrad, Adafruit...

and don't let me forget ofcourse to point out the importance of the blinking led! The electronics equivalent to 'hello world!', which is the software equivalent to a new born baby... Every project needs a heartbeat!

Oh, and I also like birds! And Lego! And Star Wars!

Have fun on Deddieslab!
